In general all apparatus that installed within the Particle Physics Division must be approved before it is left to operate unattended. The Division Head grants approval in the form of an operational readiness clearance (ORC). The Division Head makes his approval based on input from the Division Senior Safety Officer (SSO). The SSO conducts a review of the apparatus before making recommendation. The following documents provide guidance:

• Requirements - This pdf document describes the documentation requirements for a successful electrical safety review of equipment to be installed within the Particle Physics Division. A checklist is included.
• Sample Document 1 - (MDT low voltage power distribution), and Sample Document 2 (SiDet 10% test HV) are samples of electrical safety review documents describing small systems to reviewers.
• Sample Document 3 - (Dzero Solenoid Energization, Controls, Interlocks & Quench Protection System) is an example of an electrical safety review document for a much larger system .
