Preparing for Physics
with First
ATLAS Data at the LHC
I will review the status of the ATLAS detector
installation and commissioning, and discuss the preparation for physics with
test-beam studies, detailed simulations, and runs with cosmics. I will then show examples of physics
opportunities with the first LHC data.
