Astrocollider
Physics: Astroparticle Physics and the LHC
Research
into the fundamental nature of matter at the high energy frontier takes place
in three main areas: accelerator based particle physics, high energy
astrophysics and the cosmology of the early universe. As a consequence the
study of astroparticle physics can have significant implications for collider
physics at the LHC. Likewise, the LHC
project provides a laboratory to perform measurements of great importance for
cosmic ray astrophysics and cosmology. In this colloquium I review some of the
important synergistic links between astroparticle and LHC physics.
